DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES, OBJECTIVES REACHED AND OUTPUT
During his time, Martin worked on several projects, having always accomplished the requested tasks with effort, dedication and expressed interest in deepening his technical knowledge and the professional activity of Architecture. Martin had the opportunity to experience the workflow of a small-scale architecture studio, as he worked very closely with the whole team. He was able to see the way a project develops in a different setting from his previous experience, how its development is affected by building regulations and many of the elements that influence the final outcome of any given project. We intended for him to experience how precision and a methodical approach is required in order to successfully work within a team.
The developed works ranged in scale and scope, from graphical works related to the Media and Communication of the Studio, to overseeing the execution and assembly of recent project’s physical models, to collaborating in the development and presentation of ongoing projects – a public housing project in Torres Vedras, an urban-scale project in Barcelos. His participation in all these works was very positive, with a permanent goal of adding value to the conceptual point of view, as well as the high quality that he added into the execution tasks of the deliverable elements.
Martin’s strong technical bases were evident from the beginning, a remarkable maturity while approaching the proposed themes was also revealed – specifically in the critical analysis of the architectural programmatic issues, all viewed from the perspective of prefabricated modulation, which is very relevant to our practice. These qualities contributed to him being very requested in all types of tasks, which he fulfilled with reliability and a very professional attitude.
Martin showed, throughout the experience period, a high-degree of curiosity and sensitivity to his role, combined with a willingness to learn. His commitment, diligence and strong technical skills did not go unnoticed and are, in our view, the hallmarks of a high-quality worker.
