EDP Renováveis enters the GCX as one of the 50 most sustainable companies in the world

The Global Challenges Index (GCX) has just distinguished EDP Renováveis as one of the companies that most promotes sustainable development through its products and services on a global scale. This list, which now includes the company, is created by Boersen AG, the German stock exchange operator, and involves 50 international companies with a strategy to be strongly committed to fighting climate change and developing clean energy in emerging markets.

The GCX index also values the measures and policies implemented by the company to minimize social and environmental risks in its own activity.

“Our inclusion in an index of global recognition as the GCX motivates us as a company to continue our journey towards a responsible energy transition around the world,” said Rui Antunes, director of investor relations and sustainability at EDP Renováveis, in a statement.

” It highlights us as one of the best-listed companies, not only for being able to generate value for its investors but also for doing so in a sustainable way that promotes a more favorable economy to the environment,” he reinforces.

EDP Renováveis is the fourth-largest wind energy producer in the world, integrating several global indexes and rankings, such as FTSE4Good, the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes, the CDP or the Ethibel Forum.
