St. Julian’s School
St. Julian’s School is a British international school with around 1,200 students aged 3 to 18. Established in 1932, the School is proud of its rich history and heritage yet firmly focused on the future, preparing well-rounded individuals not only for success and happiness but also to make a meaningful difference in the world. Student achievement is built on a rigorous curriculum, outstanding pastoral care and high expectations for behaviour. A strong sense of belonging and healthy competition is fostered through our House System, which spans all year groups.
Students may follow the English National Curriculum, culminating in IGCSEs, or the Portuguese National Curriculum (Currículo Bilingue), before progressing to the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma or Career-related Programme (CP) in the final two years. St. Julian’s has an excellent academic record, with graduates gaining places at leading universities in the UK, US and across Europe.
Our diverse student body, representing over 60 nationalities, is one of the school’s greatest strengths and underpins a culture of respect and appreciation for different backgrounds. Guided by our Shaper Profile, we aim to develop students who are compassionate, curious, collaborative communicators and, above all, have the courage to be active global citizens who make a positive impact.
Located between Lisbon and Cascais, St. Julian’s enjoys an idyllic setting surrounded by beaches and pinewoods. The extensive campus offers exceptional sports facilities and a wide range of after-school activities, from Nature Club to ballet, chess and rugby. Over the next five years, the school will embark on a €40 million building project that will significantly enhance its facilities.
Since 2022, St. Julian’s has been recognised as one of the top 15 private schools in Europe in the Schools Index published by Carfax Education and ranked among the top 10 by Spear’s.
The School is accredited member of the Council of International Schools (CIS), Council of British International School (COBIS) and the Head is a member of the Heads’ Conference (HMC).
